A daily update is a report of progress or events that happens on a regular basis. For example, the team might provide a daily update on project development during morning meetings.
You can use the scheduler to create daily updates for any field in your Action. Simply enter a name for the update, and set a recurrence. You can also set an offset from the day that you want the update to occur — for instance, the first Tuesday after the second Tuesday of the month. You can also set a date that you want the update to revert back to its original state — it’s important to do this if the change is temporary.
At the time that you specify, a user will receive an Assistant notification for your Action with the daily update content. If you’ve configured the daily update registration prompt to appear mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip, the user can then follow the prompt and invoke your Action.
To test a daily update, you need to have an Assistant-enabled device. Invoke your Action and subscribe to daily updates, then check your device for notifications around the update time.
You can also deploy scheduled updates to machines using the Update Manager tool in System Center Configuration Manager. For more information, see Manage maintenance for machine configurations.
